Phuket thrives off its tourist industry and has plenty to offer its guests; from relaxing spas to live-aboard dive cruises. Tourist information on Phuket is available from the many tour desks and agents found in hotels and tourist areas across Phuket. They can offer you an array of options for day trips, tours, activities and services.

While many visitors come to Phuket to simply relax and soak up the sun on its gorgeous beaches, there is plenty more to do whether you prefer a lively night out, or walks in the national parks. By hiring a motorbike or taxi you can explore the island and seek out its quieter beaches and magnificent view points. Further afield are many jewels of the Andaman such as the world famous Phi Phi islands for a brilliant day trip, the stunning karst formations of Phang Nga bay which are best explored kayaking and the breathtaking beauty of Krabi, all within a couple of hours of Phuket. Tourist information for all activities on Phuket is found in this section.

Diving and snorkelling is of course a very popular draw card with numerous sites of coral heads off-shore, and the stunning Similan islands. But plenty of other watersports are offered on the beaches such as jetskiing and para-sailing. There’s even surfing at Kata beach, and eight golf courses to choose from.

By night the island comes alive, the nightlife offers a dizzy array of bars, from the naughty corners of Patong to the up-market international restaurants at various beaches. Since it is cooler at night, much of Thailand’s shopping happens at the many night markets where bargaining is essential but the pickings always good value and broad. Either way, Phuket is geared up for its tourists.

Then there are the more unusual and unique activities found here in Thailand; cooking courses are popular, or an afternoon of Thai massage while the more energetic can learn Thai kickboxing at a local gym. For family fun there is a zoo, aquarium and gibbon centre.
