Notes on taking photos in Phuket
Phuket boasts some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the world and it’s not surprising that top photographers beat a path here. But even amateurs can turn out a great selection of photos from Phuket, the weather is sunny most the year and the scenery presents endless opportunities for impressive photos. Phuket likes posing for the camera so don’t leave your camera at home.

You can download your Phuket photos onto disk at any of the numerous photo shops and internet cafes found in all the tourist centres and they also dispense film, batteries and give assistance with your camera. Memory sticks are also sold cheaply at the mall in Phuket Town as well as in tourist areas.

Thais in Phuket don’t mind having photos taken of themselves but remember to ask first; simply saying ‘Thai ruup dai mai krup/ka (male/female)’. Often students and Thai tourists may ask you, the foreigner, to pose in with them in their photos - please oblige. In fact Thais themselves love taking photos when on vacation in Phuket and their beloved King is a keen photographer.
